Have you installed any extensions that may interfere tab position?
You can try disabling all extensions temporarily.
An have you changed any options in chrome://settings/cbTabOptions?

Thanks, we have confirmed this bug still exists in the testing version and are fixing.

The problem is not in plugins, because in version 5.0.1002.182, it works fine.

Yes, we fixed a bug of Chromium itself in 5.0.1002.182, causing this bug.

Good day.

Version 5.0.1002.295 (Official build), (32 bit) (Portable) (Chromium 102.0.5005.167)

Exactly the same situation!

I have many tabs open. Approximately 50

When I activate a tab after sleep, the just ACTIVATED tab is shifted to the tab from which I switched. I can not find a solution how to get around this bug. I have all the tabs on the left, one at a time, they move far to the right... Thus, the tabs are mixed up.

The bug is absolutely UNPREDICTABLE!

Thanks for your feedback.
We will fix this issue soon.
For now you can try moving your mouse outside of the tab bar once before you select any tabs.

Yep, I returned to 182 too, even I feel like it works better/smoother/faster than 295. I will wait until new release.

We will try to reproduce.

Same problem

When I tried to move the tab, the scrollbar teleported to another part of the tabs, and also did not allow it to be scrolled anymore.
And that's it, every time so, until you restart the browser.
After reboot, it's still the same (I had many tabs with the "tab scroll buttons" option enabled)
I got around it a bit by disabling the item "tab scroll buttons" +
Started using tab groups (I didn’t immediately find out that the function is in the Cent)

So I think the problem is somewhere with scrolling tabs

Will fix it in new version.
For now you can do a little trick to bypass this bug:
move the mouse out of the tab bar once after closing any tabs
