Desktop icons rearranged

I'm using Version 3.8.5.69 (Official Build) (64-bit) (Chromium 71.0.3578.98) and on rebooting my desktop yesterday icons were scrambled again to the left side of the screen.
I restored the desktop icons.
Loaded Firefox, all OK.
Loaded Cent, all OK.
This morning icons were messed up again.
I can see no pattern to this at all.

This issue should have been fixed in Chromium 71.
Have you tried disabling all your extensions?

I don't think I've tried that.
I've just disabled all my extensions, closed Cent, reloaded Cent and all is Ok.
But of course that has been the case for weeks now, so it doesn't mean anything.
When I booted down last night the icons were correct.
After booting this morning the icons were messed up.
This was even before I had loaded Cent or anything else.
I'll leave the extensions disabled before I boot down tonight and see what I get tomorrow.

I had to reboot tonight (Avast update).
Alas, after the reboot all desktop icons were rearranged all to the left-hand side.
I had disabled all Cent extensions before reboot.
I restored all the icons and reloaded Cent.
All icons were in their right place!
As I said, I see no pattern whatsoever when the icons will get screwed up.
I'm just glad I have used the desktop save/restore utility otherwise it would be a nightmare; I have 72 desktop icons!

Please try deleting icon cache file:

And reset your folder options:

Thanks for your help CentBrowser.
I deleted the icon cache file, shutdown, rebooted and the icons were messed up.
I restored the icons.
I then did the Reset Folder Options, shutdown, rebooted and the icons were messed up.
It's been fine for weeks now and suddenly it starts again.
The only things I can think of that have changed are:
Monthly Windows updated.
CCleaner updated.
Avast updated.
Firefox updated.
Cent updated.
Other hidden/auto updates.

FWIW:
I shutdown the PC every night and boot up every morning.
For the past few days now it seems that the icons are now only scrambled after each reboot.
Closing/reloading Cent seems to leave the icons OK.
If this pattern changes I'll reply again.

I had Thunderbird loaded and there was an update to 60.5.0 (32-bit) which I let it do.
After Thunderbird updated and reloaded itself all the desktop icon were scrambled.

Have you tried turning off "Auto arrange icons" and turning on "Align icons to grid" in desktop context menu.

I have always had "Auto arrange icons" turned off and "Align icons to grid" turned on.
