Try it from softpedia (altho they also download from catsxp, they actual sandbox and test the heck out of all software)...maybe do an "inspect" to figure out what those 5 ads are...maybe ad placeholders due to how their "shields" work (their ad removal)??

I was about to make the switch but the 1 pain (that's been pointed out) is we can't disable directwrite....so for now it's in #2 spot!!

built-in adblockcng is ok.
it is very current with chrome 98, and auto-update can be disabled by disbling update service if you wish
however:
catsxp seems to use its own sync service. i could not get catsxp to use google sync for passwords and bookmarks. this is important to me because i've got a number of devices.
this pushes me towards slimjet - but it's getting old on chrome 94.
al this takes me closer to jumping to edge (!?!?!)
what browsers do google sync still?
