I am also using the Cent only because of DirectWrite option disable/enable. 
Maybe you know another browser when I can disable /enable it?

I switched to Vivialdi on all my devices and use mactype (font render [freetype] for Windows), so it no need DirectWrite anymore for me. Try it, i hope it will be helpful for you.

You can change Policies for any Chromium based browser to change font render "style", just change Vivaldi for name which browser do you use. But i don't sure bout it
