Edit Reason: clarification
)
If you
right click on a bookmark, a nice option in the appearing context menu is to "
replace with current url"
It comes in very handy, except there is a 'bug' (maybe a feature?

) or unintended consequence.
If you perform that option, the
bookmark name is also updated. I don't want my names updated (since I customize names to make good sense and very short on the bookmark bar!) so I am asking to only update the url for that bookmark.
Just allow the 'replace with current url' only do that - l
eave the bookmark name alone. thanks.....

Thanks for your suggestion.
Ideally the browser should decide changing the bookmark name or not by itself, but it is hard to tell whether users want to keep the original name.
So it is not easy to find a better solution.

its not really a suggestion, just stating the feature does not work as noted "replace with current url" is doing more than that! Maybe "replace with current tab" would cover both url and ttile.
Personally, I think many would customize the names, especially if they display the bookmark bar all the time.
Please consider to add an option to NOT update of name (in settings/bookmark)? Then it's flexible. thanks!

In next version, we will support replacing bookmark without changing name if users hold on SHIFT.
Is that acceptable?

Random suggestion: Maybe using a dialog box to type the name?
_ By default, the name stay the same, the user can change it
_ Using Ctrl and/or shift would hides the box and direct update the title (or keep the original one, via a custom setting for exemple)

it's ok, but would rather have as default instead of clicking keyboard unnecessarily. But appreciate the thought.
Again, part of the issue is the name of the feature "replace with current URL" to me means "just replace url.
"replace with current bookmark" would be replacing both title and URL.....
see the nuance?

"replace with current bookmark" is also not correct description.
The full description should be "replace this bookmark with the URL and the title of the current tab".
Can you shorten it?

It is good idea, but a little heavy.
Most users don't like to fill anything.

how about simply 'update with current'? or "update"? [since the feature above it is "edit}?
I see what u mean!

'update with current' is good.
But I think it is not precise enough.
Users need to know current XXX(URL?Name?Tab?).
