Slimjet has some nice features, but it looks outdated and most of its tweaks can be implemented to chrome with extensions. So i decided to go back to chrome.
For me too. But I've been using Lastpass for a while now, and I already have almost all my passwords saved. LastPass is also more powerful and can autofill me and log in, save addresses, VISA and a lot of other information if I want, and all with a single master password.
Maxthon has its synchronization service, but what I have done is install the latest version 6, install all my extensions, import favorites, set everything almost identical to CentBrowser in one PC and when I have it, I make a copy of the c:/Users/MyUser/Appdata/Maxthon and then on the rest of my computers I unzip it and I have everything perfectly installed and synchronized.
Because for some reason when I reinstall Maxthon it sync my settings and bookmarks but not the extensions. But copying the folder if I format or change PCs I don't have to repeat everything. EVEN the internal configurations of the extensions are saved, which with chrome (or cent) I have to reconfigure them every time.
Then I apply update to the latest version and it updates and does not fail. I'm really delighted and pages that already gave me an error with Cent with Chrome96 I think everything is going better for me.
Now for me Maxthon is perfect, and have new versions every few weeks. The last beta versions are working in a better dark mode
