could this affect cent?

Yes?

Cent is building its own service, but it could't sync with Chrome on other devices

very bad news :-(
own sync won't do, how are we supposed to sync our mobiles?
maybe there will be a way to fool it?
I wonder how the detection will be

Bad news. Confused
Seems all small Chromium browsers except Vivaldi and Brave are using Google sync.

I've thought about it and I don't think I'll be making the switch (to chrome),
one of the reasons is chrome latest versions weren't running on my work pc (because of an issue with symantec antivirus,
the IT refused to do anything about it), I've just installed it and it works despite throwing a runtime error on launch Biggrin,
other than that I like the cent added features,
so if google wants it, so be it,
I've setup chrome portable on my laptop and
when there are changes (on bookmarks and/or passwords), I'll be opening chrome to sync them,
so that my mobile devices (and tablets)  can see them..

other solution(s) would be cent team to develop a mechanism to push our changes to chrome sync,
but as someone noted on the link you provided MingzZ, I wonder how are they gonna detect cent etc,
aren't all chrome (or at least chrome based) browsers?

There are always methods to distinguish Chrome and Chromium.
Most queries to Google servers have different parameters.
We have to build our own account system.

Such a devastating move for Chromium-based browsers, the absurdity is they only give 2 months to the devs

what if we open chrome and point it to the cent browser's profile?
won't it sync it?

I mean come on, it's the same thing, this decision is absolutely ridiculous,
there's got to be a workaround,
just wait and the cent guys will find it out

If you sync only Bookmarks, this may be feasible.
But remember to backup your User Data firstly, this may also damage your data.
