Cent Update fails with Error Code 32
#1
Thumbs Down
When I let Cent do an update from 5.1.1130.128 to 5.1.1130.129 I get an error message:
Browser Update Failed, error code 32
and a virus warning message:
PUA:Win32/SetDefaultBrowser
06/07/2024 10:42 (Active)          Low

I have never had any problems with updates prior to this.

Seems the update process was blocked by your anti-virus.
You can temporarily disable it.
Have you ever modified the settings of Microsoft Defender?

I've been updating Cent browser since January 2018 and can't remember this happening.
I have never modified the settings of Microsoft Defender?
The file in question is at C:\Users\....\AppData\Local\Temp\centbrowser_5.1.1130.129.exe
It says it's a Potential Unwanted App.
I used Defender option to allow this on this device but it made no difference.

I rebooted the PC but it made no difference.
I'll wait until the next Cent update and see if it happens again; unless you have other suggestions.

I've just updated Cent to Version 5.1.1130.129 (Official Build) (32-bit) (Chromium 118.0.5993.159).
No problems this time.
I had a popup message that I've never seen before saying "Upgraded to 5.1.1130.129".
Everything seems to be working as normal.  Shy

So it might be a temporary false positive.

Yeah, could be.
Is the popup message "Upgraded to 5.1.1130.129" new?
I can't remember seeing it before.

No, it was added seven years ago.
It will close after five seconds, so you may not see it if the browser starts not fast enough.
