This problem will occur in all browsers except edge.
Thanks for the info.
But this change should only affect (silently)setting default programs.

My W11 says this last version I just installed has a Trojan named Trojan:Win32/Aclll described as seriously dangerous because it executes attacks.

Need a screenshot?

What's going on?

I uninstalled by now awating your news.

the chrome.exe in centbrowser https://static.centbrowser.com/testing/test_bookmark_menu.zip  (in https://static.centbrowser.com/testing/ )does not trigger the trojan alert. it does not attempt to install anything.
i'm not sure about the 'silent setting' thing but somthing in all the centbrower versions in https://static.centbrowser.com/win_beta/5.1.1130.26/ do trigger.

so - to centbrowser developers - please figure out what the issue is.
thx

Changes were basically related to User Interface, and all changes are in chrome.dll not chrome.exe
This false positive was resulted by MD's virus database upgrade on April 8.
We need digital signatures to reduce such false positives.

RE: beta version (5.1.1130.26) - AllanH - 04-12-2024

If you use Kaspersky, false positives will be much less of an issue.
There's a standalone scanner available at https://support.kaspersky.com/kvrt2020/howto

windows security no longer  flags this as a trojan as on another signature update this AM ( version 1.409.220.0)
good news.
