Setting up search engines - nikat - 03-30-2017 In the latest version (v2.5.4.39 from 03/28/2017) the following bug is noticed: All search engine settings have been erased. When you add a search engine to the group "Use by default" in the settings, it is not saved there and in the context menu is not displayed RE: Setting up search engines - Admini - 03-31-2017 Chromium added some restriction on default search engine list. Now you need to uncheck the option "Show default search engines only in context menu". But in this case, too many search engines appear in the context menu, which are added automatically. This is equivalent to staying completely without a contextual search. RE: Setting up search engines - jack - 03-31-2017 I would recommend extension "Context Menu Search" link https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/context-menu-search/ocpcmghnefmdhljkoiapafejjohldoga?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog RE: Setting up search engines - nikat - 03-31-2017 Thank you, jack. I used this and other similar extensions, but in them when searching on sites that use the windows-1251 encoding, queries in Cyrillic (I'm from Russia) are not processed correctly. Search through the built-in context menu work correctly. This is the phenomenon. RE: Setting up search engines - Admini - 04-01-2017 You can remove unnecessary search engines, and add command line "--cb-disable-auto-detect-search-provider" to prevent the browser from collecting search engines automatically. RE: Setting up search engines - nikat - 04-01-2017 Yes, it is necessary to do so. Thank you. Or roll back to v2.4.2.19. However, for some reason the browser is updated automatically with the automatically update check-box turned off. P.S.: I wonder why in Chrome made such a deformation?
