RE: BETA version -- 4.3.9.182 - lian00 - 11-27-2020 Hello, I’m a little lost as when I check for update, the browser says there is no update available and, as @jeffhere wrote, download sites propose 4.3.9.210 RE: BETA version -- 4.3.9.182 - Lyrix - 11-27-2020 Centbrowser (4.3.9.210) still are slowest browser on my machine, no benefits from upstream, shame. Speedometer 2.0 Run/Min: Centbrowser 72.7 | FF 75.55 | Chromium 91.3 (86.0.4240.198) RE: BETA version -- 4.3.9.182 - jeffhere - 11-28-2020 (11-27-2020, 01:06 PM)Lyrix Wrote: Centbrowser (4.3.9.210) still are slowest browser on my machine, no benefits from upstream, shame.are you running them all the same (features/set options)? Cent has a lot more built in (opposed to ff/chromium) features. You know what I mean, I think... I only assume the built in features add overhead...but i don't really know. Not sure if Cent safe mode pulls out any of that overhead...try that to see if a difference... I had tested it all with default settings (portable/fresh install). In safe mode Chromium (include Cent Browser) runs in software mode with no hardware acceleration, it means that results will be much worse. I'm not only one person who find that Cent are slower, if you want you can find same from other users in another threads on this forum. Others browsers like Brave, Vivaldi are little bit faster, i'd tested it too, but forgot to include Opera and Edge. :) Cent Browser a good choose, it's run smooth and fast, but if you add any Adblock/uBlock it slowing down to much (like other browser). PS: Tried to test Microsoft Edge (87.0.664.47), surprisingly it showed 85.3 Runs/Minute (at https://browserbench.org/Speedometer2.0/) RE: BETA version -- 4.3.9.182 - Gravimetrox7 - 11-28-2020 (11-27-2020, 01:06 PM)Lyrix Wrote: Centbrowser (4.3.9.210) still are slowest browser on my machine, no benefits from upstream, shame. I'm more interested in the incredible features not found anywhere else, than if a page renders .01 seconds different. You can always use those other browsers, I switch between multiple as I prefer. Cent is one of my top picks. Thanks to the devs! Amazing work! RE: BETA version -- 4.3.9.182 - Al Q - 11-28-2020 Cent for me is fastest! RE: BETA version -- 4.3.9.182 - jeffhere - 11-28-2020 on version 4.3.9.210, I just had 2 instant crashes of Cent...doing nothing in particular, just reading news. No indication, just reading and "poof, browser is gone". Ensured no Cent/chrome in processes and there were none after each crash. Will be watching for this. RE: BETA version -- 4.3.9.182 - cb-user - 12-04-2020 Questions to the developer. 1. What is the principle of browser version numbering? What does the first digit in the version number mean? How is it assigned and when is it changed? What do the rest of the digits in the version number mean? 2. Why is the chrome_proxy.exe file present in the browser? What is its purpose? If you delete it, nothing changes. 3. When is the final release of the new version? She's not ready yet, what's the reason? Will there be changes? |
